New York – As part of its focus on driving technology-based innovation in the flexible materials industries, Gerber Technology has opened its 18,000-square-foot Innovation Center here.
The center, on the 19th floor of the Starrett-Lehigh Building, provides visitors with the opportunity to see the latest software and hardware technology in fashion, apparel and flexible material processing. The grand opening took place during the company’s annual FashionTech conference last week.
“Our Innovation Center is the first of its kind in the industry,” said Mohit Uberoi, CEO at Gerber. “Visitors will meet our experts and experience first-hand how our end-to-end platform can enable an on-demand workflow, taking personalized consumer requests from design to print, cut and sew in a matter of hours.”
The center features the latest 2D/3D CAD and PLM solutions and Industry 4.0 enabled smart machines, he said. The space will also serve as a hub for educational institution and major companies across the industry, and be the site of forums, workshops, collaborative working sessions and industry events in fashion, home and leisure, transportation and other high-tech markets.
Gerber Technology, based in Tolland, Conn., is owned by AIP, a New York-based global private equity firm specializing in the technology sector.
